Parental involvement

There are almost limitless possibilities for parents to become involved in the life of the school. In fact, many events and activities are the direct result of parents’ skill, enthusiasm and creativity. An excellent example is the multitude of stalls at the Christmas Bazaar (Marché de Noël) and Spring Fair (Fête de Printemps), which are organized and manned by parents.

Parental involvement and motivation are also in demand during the regular calls to “roll up their sleeves” and attend the weekends scheduled to carry out maintenance work on the school buildings(journées de travaux). Parents also organize stands at the Geneva Fête de la Musique and the Bernex Jazz Festival to raise funds for various school projects.

Apart from establishing and strengthening bonds within the school community and offering opportunities to acquire new skills, parents’ active participation also makes an important contribution to raising awareness of the school and its educational approach among the wider public.

The energetic commitment of parents is indispensable to a vibrant self-governed school.
