There are almost limitless possibilities for parents to become involved in the life of the school. In fact, many events and activities are the direct result of parentsâ skill, enthusiasm and creativity. An excellent example is the multitude of stalls at the Christmas Bazaar (MarchĂ© de NoĂ«l) and Spring Fair (FĂȘte de Printemps), which are organized and manned by parents.
Parental involvement and motivation are also in demand during the regular calls to âroll up their sleevesâ and attend the weekends scheduled to carry out maintenance work on the school buildings(journĂ©es de travaux). Parents also organize stands at the Geneva FĂȘte de la Musique and the Bernex Jazz Festival to raise funds for various school projects.
Apart from establishing and strengthening bonds within the school community and offering opportunities to acquire new skills, parentsâ active participation also makes an important contribution to raising awareness of the school and its educational approach among the wider public.
The energetic commitment of parents is indispensable to a vibrant self-governed school.
